Covid-19's Impact on NBA2K League Players (Part 1 of 5)
Written by Boneman9000
To kick off Season 3 of the NBA 2K League, we linked up with players from multiple teams and across the country to see how they’ve been getting accustomed to being quarantined and remote play. We’re all different in the 2K community, so it was great to see how everyone reacted to the need to stay inside.
In this 5-part series, we get a behind the scenes look into the lives of Ramo (Pistons GT), TOXSIK (Magic Gaming), Lord BEEZUS (Jazz Gaming), Shuttles (Nets Gaming Crew), and oFAB (Celtics Crossover Gaming) to find out exactly how the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted them on both a personal and professional level.
We will also be asking the same questions to the 2K community so make sure to keep an eye out on twitter (@the2kzone) for your chance to give your input on the question of the day. It will be interesting to compare the community's answers to the NBA 2K League players.
Besides the NBA Shutting down, what was something that made the Coronavirus hit home for you?
RAMO, Pistons GT
"I would say just your everyday life-changing right before your eyes. One day you wake up, and you notice everything changing day by day."
TOXSIK, Magic Gaming
"Besides the NBA being shut down. My mom is a teacher, so seeing her having to work from home & my dad not able to do appointments for his job really hit home for me."
LORD BEEZUS, Jazz Gaming
"Hearing one of my friends back home had tested positive for it. Knowing he had a daughter and wasn't able to be with her and had to isolate from his family was something that was tough for me to know."
SHUTTLES, Nets Gaming Crew
"I think for me it was the fact that I’d have to wake up every day and had to live life according to what the CDC suggested instead of going through my usual daily routine."
oFAB, Celtics Crossover Gaming
"The fact that it ruined my routine I had going. I would wake up at 6 am every morning and go workout, then go downtown and grab something to eat and head to practice, watch film, then go to boxing and do some school work. Coronavirus messed up my routine quite a bit."
Tomorrow we’ll come out with part two of this five-part series. We’ll also include how most people fared in today's poll, so be on the lookout for that.
Until next time, Seeya!
